I love the Internet and popular mail-order catalogs, but it’s so hard to find someplace to buy just one or two cigars and mix and match. For that purpose, I go to my local tobacco shop and scope out new cigars to try. A couple of weeks ago I was browsing there, and I found a cigar I’ve longed to try: the infamous Padron.
Padron cigars are known for their easy draw, mellow flavor, and incredible construction. They are expertly made and have a huge following just about everywhere. I finally decided on my favorite cigar size, a toro, and the 3000 comes right at 5.5/50, so I picked one up, placed it in the humidor, and eagerly waited for the bite of winter to ease up a bit to enjoy it.
It was an great cut and light. It’s funny because the draw is so easy, you can actually burn the cigar by getting it a bit too hot if your not careful. After a few moments, the cigar began to open up and i eased into my chair, enjoyed my thoughts with a nice drink and pondered just how they pack the cigar to make it so easy to smoke. I’m definitely going to pick up a couple more of these bad boys and keep them in the humidor.
Summary
Overall, the cigar isn’t heavy, it’s not hard to smoke; it has a very mellow flavor and would be, in my opinion, a great one for someone just starting cigars. That being said, if you start off with a Padron, you’ll probably never want anything else!
